دَعْوَىٰهُمْ فِيهَا سُبْحَـٰنَكَ ٱللَّهُمَّ وَتَحِيَّتُهُمْ فِيهَا سَلَـٰمٌ ۚ وَءَاخِرُ دَعْوَىٰهُمْ أَنِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ﴿10﴾
Their way of request therein will be Subhânaka Allâhumma (Glory to You, O Allâh!) and Salâm (peace, safety from evil) will be their greetings therein (Paradise)! and the close of their request will be: Al-Hamdu Lillâhi Rabb-il-‘Âlamîn [All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, the Lord of ‘Âlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists)].
دَعْوَىٰهُمْ daʿwāhum Their prayer
فِيهَا fīhā therein
سُبْحَـٰنَكَ sub'ḥānaka (will be), "Glory be to You
ٱللَّهُمَّ l-lahuma O Allah
وَتَحِيَّتُهُمْ wataḥiyyatuhum And their greeting
فِيهَا fīhā therein (will be)
سَلَـٰمٌۭ ۚ salāmun Peace
وَءَاخِرُ waākhiru And the last
دَعْوَىٰهُمْ daʿwāhum (of) their call
أَنِ ani (will be) [that]
ٱلْحَمْدُ l-ḥamdu All the Praise be
لِلَّهِ lillahi to Allah
رَبِّ rabbi Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ l-ʿālamīna (of) the worlds

(Ayah 10) ➊ {دَعْوٰىهُمْ فِيْهَا سُبْحٰنَكَ اللّٰهُمَّ …:} That is, upon seeing the blessings and wonders of Paradise, they will spontaneously say: "O Allah! You are pure." In fact, just as breathing continues automatically in this world, the hearts and tongues of the people of Paradise will continuously and automatically engage in the glorification and praise of Allah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [ إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ يَأْكُلُوْنَ فِيْهَا وَيَشْرَبُوْنَ وَلَا يَتْفِلُوْنَ وَلاَ يَبُوْلُوْنَ وَلاَ يَتَغَوَّطُوْنَ وَلاَ يَمْتَخِطُوْنَ، قَالُوْا فَمَا بَالُ الطَّعَامِ؟ قَالَ جُشَاءٌ وَ رَشْحٌ كَرَشْحِ الْمِسْكِ يُلْهَمُوْنَ التَّسْبِيْحَ وَالتَّحْمِيْدَ كَمَا يُلْهَمُوْنَ النَّفَسَ ] [ مسلم، الجنۃ و صفۃ نعیمھا، باب في صفات الجنۃ وأھلھا…: ۲۸۳۵، عن جابر بن عبد اللہ رضی اللہ عنھما] "The people of Paradise will eat and drink in Paradise, but they will neither spit, nor urinate, nor defecate, nor blow their noses." The Companions asked: "Where will the food they eat go?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "There will be only a burp and sweat, from which the fragrance of musk will emanate (and their food will be digested). (On their hearts and tongues) glorification and praise will flow automatically and involuntarily, just as breathing continues automatically." {’’ تَحِيَّتُهُمْ ‘‘} is a verbal noun from the form "taf‘īl," meaning to pray for life, that Allah may grant you life; that is, when they meet each other, they will greet each other with the words of 'salam' (a prayer for life), as Allah has mentioned in Surah Ibrahim (23), Surah Maryam (60 to 62), and Surah Waqi‘ah (25, 26).

{وَ اٰخِرُ دَعْوٰىهُمْ اَنِ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ:} And the conclusion of their supplication and conversation will be with the praise of the Lord of the worlds. Even in this world, their conversation and supplication would end with the praise and glorification of Allah; in Paradise, it will continue in the same way. Jubayr bin Mut‘im (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever says these words: [ سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، سُبْحَانَكَ اللّٰهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَّا إِلٰهَ اِلَّا أَنْتَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوْبُ إِلَيْكَ ] in any gathering of remembrance, it will be like a seal placed at the end, and whoever says them in a gathering of idle talk, it will be an expiation for him." [ مستدرک حاکم : 537/1 ، ح : ۱۹۷۰۔ السلسلۃ الصحیحۃ : 120/1] The wording of the narration from Abdullah bin Amr and Ibn Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with them) is that the expiation for a gathering is that a servant should say: [ سُبْحَانَكَ اللّٰهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَّا إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لاَ شَرِيْكَ لَكَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوْبُ إِلَيْكَ ] [ صحیح الجامع : ۴۴۸۷ ]
