Surah Al-Bayyina (98) — Ayah 8

جَزَآؤُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّـٰتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا ۖ رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا۟ عَنْهُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِىَ رَبَّهُۥ ﴿8﴾
Their reward with their Lord is ‘Adn (Eden) Paradise (Gardens of Eternity), underneath which rivers flow. They will abide therein forever, Allâh will be pleased with them, and they with Him. That is for him who fears his Lord.
جَزَآؤُهُمْ jazāuhum Their reward
عِندَ ʿinda (is) with
رَبِّهِمْ rabbihim their Lord
جَنَّـٰتُ jannātu Gardens
عَدْنٍۢ ʿadnin (of) Eternity
تَجْرِى tajrī flow
مِن min from
تَحْتِهَا taḥtihā underneath them
ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ l-anhāru the rivers
خَـٰلِدِينَ khālidīna will abide
فِيهَآ fīhā therein
أَبَدًۭا ۖ abadan forever
رَّضِىَ raḍiya (will be) pleased
ٱللَّهُ l-lahu Allah
عَنْهُمْ ʿanhum with them
وَرَضُوا۟ waraḍū and they (will be) pleased
عَنْهُ ۚ ʿanhu with Him
ذَٰلِكَ dhālika That
لِمَنْ liman (is) for whoever
خَشِىَ khashiya feared
رَبَّهُۥ rabbahu his Lord

8. 1. Because of their faith, obedience, and righteous deeds. Allah’s pleasure is the greatest thing (ورضوان من اللہ اکبر).
8. 2. Because Allah has blessed them with such bounties in which both their soul and body find happiness.
8. 3. That is, this reward and pleasure are for those who, in the world, feared Allah and, due to that fear, refrained from acts of disobedience to Allah. If they ever did disobey, they repented and reformed themselves for the future, so much so that their death came upon obedience, not upon sin. This means that one who fears Allah cannot persist and continue in sin, and whoever does so, in reality, his heart is empty of the fear of Allah.
