And of the bedouins there are some who believe in Allâh and the Last Day, and look upon what they spend in Allâh’s Cause as means of nearness to Allâh, and a cause of receiving the Messenger’s invocations. Indeed these (spendings in Allâh’s Cause) are a means of nearness for them. Allâh will admit them to His Mercy. Certainly Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

99. 1 This is the second category of Bedouins whom Allah granted the ability to believe in Allah and the Last Day, despite living far from the city. And due to this faith, He also removed from them that ignorance which is generally prevalent among the desert dwellers because of irreligiousness. Thus, instead of considering the wealth spent in the way of Allah as a penalty, they regard it as a means of attaining closeness to Allah and of receiving the prayers of the Messenger. This is an indication towards the practice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding those who gave charity, that is, he ﷺ would supplicate for them, as is mentioned in the hadith that for one who brought charity, he ﷺ prayed: (Sahih Bukhari No. 4166, Sahih Muslim No. 756) "O Allah! Send mercy upon the family of Abu Awfa."

99. 2 This is the glad tidings that they have attained closeness to Allah and are deserving of Allah’s mercy.
