لَوْ يَجِدُونَ مَلْجَـًٔا أَوْ مَغَـٰرَٰتٍ أَوْ مُدَّخَلًا لَّوَلَّوْا۟ إِلَيْهِ وَهُمْ يَجْمَحُونَ ﴿57﴾
Should they find a refuge, or caves, or a place of concealment, they would turn straightway thereto with a swift rush.
لَوْ law If
يَجِدُونَ yajidūna they could find
مَلْجَـًٔا malja-an a refuge
أَوْ aw or
مَغَـٰرَٰتٍ maghārātin caves
أَوْ aw or
مُدَّخَلًۭا muddakhalan a place to enter
لَّوَلَّوْا۟ lawallaw surely, they would turn
إِلَيْهِ ilayhi to it
وَهُمْ wahum and they
يَجْمَحُونَ yajmaḥūna run wild

57. 1. That is, they would run very swiftly to their shelters, because whatever relationship they have with you is not based on love and sincerity, but on enmity, hatred, and aversion.
