And whenever there comes down a Sûrah (chapter from the Qur’ân), some of them (hypocrites) say: "Which of you has had his Faith increased by it?" As for those who believe, it has increased their Faith, and they rejoice.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

124. 1 In this surah, the character of the hypocrites has been exposed; these verses are its remainder and conclusion. It is being stated that when, in their absence, a surah or a part of it is revealed and the matter comes to their knowledge, they mockingly say to each other, "Whose faith among you has increased because of this?"

124. 2 Allah Almighty said, whatever surah is revealed, it increases the faith of the believers, and they rejoice at the increase in their faith. This verse is also evidence that faith increases and decreases, just as is the position of the hadith scholars.
