سُوْرَةُ التَّوْبَةِ
Surah At-Tawba (9) — Ayah 104
أَلَمْ يَعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ يَقْبَلُ ٱلتَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِۦ وَيَأْخُذُ ٱلصَّدَقَـٰتِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴿104﴾

Know they not that Allâh accepts repentance from His slaves and takes the Sadaqât (alms, charity), and that Allâh Alone is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful?

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf

14. 1. The meaning of "accepts charity" is (provided that it is from lawful earnings) He increases it. Just as it is mentioned in the hadith. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah Almighty nurtures your charity just as one of you nurtures his foal, until a charity equal to a date (grows and grows) and becomes like the mountain of Uhud." (Sahih Bukhari)
