Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
3. That is, this Quran is not stories, as the disbelievers say and think. Rather, it is the word of Allah and His revelation which was sent down to His Messenger through Jibreel ؑ the trustworthy.
4. That is, their hearts do not believe in this Quran and divine revelation because their hearts have been covered due to the abundance of sins and have become rusted. This rust is the blackness of sins which, due to continuous sinning, covers the heart. In the hadith it is stated: "When a servant commits a sin, a black dot appears on his heart. If he repents, that blackness is removed, and if instead of repenting, he continues to sin, that blackness increases until it covers his entire heart. This is the rust mentioned in the Noble Quran." (Tirmidhi, Chapter: Tafsir of Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Ibn Majah, Book of Zuhd, Chapter: Mention of Sins. Musnad Ahmad 297/2)
