And those who disbelieve are allies of one another, (and) if you (Muslims of the whole world collectively) do not do so [i.e. become allies, as one united block under one Khalifah (a chief Muslim ruler for the whole Muslim world) to make victorious Allâh’s religion of Islâmic Monotheism], there will be Fitnah (wars, battles, polytheism) and oppression on the earth, and a great mischief and corruption (appearance of polytheism).

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

73. 1. That is, just as disbelievers are friends and supporters of one another, if you too do not support each other on the basis of faith and do not refrain from befriending disbelievers, then great turmoil and corruption will arise. And this means that through the mutual mixing, affection, and alliance between believers and disbelievers, confusion and compromise will arise in matters of religion. Some have interpreted (بعضھم اولیآء بعض) to mean inheritance, that is, disbelievers are heirs of one another, and the meaning is that a Muslim cannot inherit from a disbeliever, nor can a disbeliever inherit from a Muslim, as this has been clearly explained in the ahadith. If you ignore faith and disbelief in matters of inheritance and consider only kinship, then great turmoil and corruption will arise.
