Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

45. 1. Now the Muslims are being taught those etiquettes of battle which are necessary to observe at the time of facing the enemy. The very first thing is steadfastness and perseverance, because without this it is not possible to stand firm in the battlefield. However, the two cases of 'taharruf' and 'tahayyuz', whose explanation has already been given, are exceptions to this. Because sometimes even for steadfastness, 'taharruf' or 'tahayyuz' becomes inevitable. The second instruction is that remember Allah abundantly, so that if the Muslims are few, they remain seekers of Allah's help and Allah, due to their abundant remembrance, also pays attention to them, and if the Muslims are many in number, then due to their abundance, pride and arrogance do not arise among them, rather the main focus remains on Allah's assistance.
