Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

29. 1. Taqwa means to avoid opposing the commands of Allah and to refrain from committing His prohibitions, and several meanings of Furqan have been mentioned, such as something by which the difference between truth and falsehood can be distinguished. The meaning is that due to taqwa, the heart becomes strong, insight sharper, and the path of guidance clearer, by which a person, at every such occasion when ordinary people are wandering in the valleys of doubt and suspicion, is granted the ability to remain on the straight path. In addition, victory, help, salvation, and a way out have also been mentioned as its meanings. And all of these can be intended, because certainly all these benefits are attained through taqwa, and along with this, expiation of sins, forgiveness of sins, and great bounty are also attained.
