Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

28. 1. The love of wealth and children is generally what compels a person to commit betrayal and to avoid obedience to Allah and His Messenger ﷺ. That is why they have been declared a trial (test), meaning that through them, a person is tested to see whether he fulfills the demands of trustworthiness and obedience in their love or not. If he fulfills them, then understand that he is successful in this test. Otherwise, he is unsuccessful. In that case, this very wealth and children will become a cause of Allah's punishment for him.
