Surah An-Naazi'aat (79) — Ayah 46

كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا ﴿46﴾
The Day they see it, (it will be) as if they had not tarried (in this world) except an afternoon or a morning.
كَأَنَّهُمْ ka-annahum As though they
يَوْمَ yawma (the) Day
يَرَوْنَهَا yarawnahā they see it
لَمْ lam not
يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ yalbathū they had remained
إِلَّا illā except
عَشِيَّةً ʿashiyyatan an evening
أَوْ aw or
ضُحَىٰهَا ḍuḥāhā a morning thereof

46. 1. That is, they will not even have remained in the world for a full day; only the first part of the day or the last part of the day they will have spent in the world, meaning the life of this world will seem so brief to them.
