Surah Al-Mursalaat (77) — Ayah 4

فَٱلْفَـٰرِقَـٰتِ فَرْقًا ﴿4﴾
And by the Verses (of the Qur’ân) that separate the right from the wrong.
فَٱلْفَـٰرِقَـٰتِ fal-fāriqāti And those who separate
فَرْقًۭا farqan (by the) Criterion

4. 1. That is, by those angels who descend with commands that distinguish between truth and falsehood. Or, it refers to the Quranic verses, through which the distinction between truth and falsehood, and lawful and unlawful, is made. Or, it refers to the Messengers who, through divine revelation, clearly distinguish between truth and falsehood.
