And We rained down on them a rain (of stones). Then see what was the end of the Mujrimûn (criminals, polytheists and sinners).

84. 1 What kind of special rain was this? A rain of stones, as mentioned in another place, We sent upon them a shower of stones, layer upon layer. Before this, it is mentioned, We turned that town upside down. 84. 2 That is, O Muhammad ﷺ, just see what happens to those people who openly commit disobedience to Allah and deny the messengers.
