And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain). Till when they have carried a heavy-laden cloud, We drive it to a land that is dead, then We cause water (rain) to descend thereon. Then We produce every kind of fruit therewith. Similarly, We shall raise up the dead, so that you may remember or take heed.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

57. 1. In establishing His divinity and lordship, Allah further presents proofs and then establishes the resurrection of the dead. "بشرا" is the plural of "بشیر". By "رحمۃ" here is meant "مطر" (rain), that is, before the rain, He sends cool winds which are the harbingers of rain.

157. 2. By "heavy cloud" is meant clouds filled with water.

57. 3. All kinds of fruits, which differ from each other in colors, tastes, fragrances, and shapes and forms.

57. 4. Just as We bring forth vegetation from dead land through water, and it produces various kinds of grains and fruits, in the same way, on the Day of Resurrection, all humans who have mixed with the soil and become dust, We will resurrect them again and then take their account.
