Surah Al-A'raaf (7) — Ayah 36

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ عَنْهَآ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ ﴿36﴾
But those who reject Our Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations) and treat them with arrogance, they are the dwellers of the (Hell) Fire, they will abide therein forever.
وَٱلَّذِينَ wa-alladhīna But those who
كَذَّبُوا۟ kadhabū deny
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا biāyātinā Our Verses
وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ wa-is'takbarū and (are) arrogant
عَنْهَآ ʿanhā towards them
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ulāika those
أَصْحَـٰبُ aṣḥābu (are the) companions
ٱلنَّارِ ۖ l-nāri (of) the Fire
هُمْ hum they
فِيهَا fīhā in it
خَـٰلِدُونَ khālidūna will abide forever

36. 1. In this, the evil end of those people is described who deny the commands of Allah and show arrogance in opposition to them, in contrast to the people of faith. The purpose of mentioning the end of both the believers and the disbelievers is so that people may adopt the character whose end is good and avoid the character whose end is evil.
