سُوْرَةُ الْاَعْرَافِ
Surah Al-A'raaf (7) — Ayah 152
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلْعِجْلَ سَيَنَالُهُمْ غَضَبٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَذِلَّةٌ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُفْتَرِينَ ﴿152﴾

Certainly, those who took the calf (for worship), wrath from their Lord and humiliation will come upon them in the life of this world. Thus do We recompense those who invent lies.

152. 1 Allah's wrath was that killing was made necessary for repentance. And before that, as long as they lived, they were deemed deserving of humiliation and disgrace.
