Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

133. 1. The flood refers to a deluge or excessive rain, in which everything was submerged, or a great number of deaths, which caused mourning in every house. The locust swarm is famous for the devastation of crops; these locusts would devour their grains and fruit crops completely. The water in ponds and pools, these frogs became so numerous that they were everywhere—in their food, in their beds, in their grains—so that everywhere and in every direction there were only frogs, making it impossible for them to eat, drink, sleep, or rest. By دم (blood) is meant the water turning into blood, thus making it impossible for them to drink water. Some have interpreted blood as the disease of nosebleeds, meaning that blood started flowing from every person's nose. These were clear and distinct miracles that came upon them at intervals.
