Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

112. 1. In the time of Musa (peace be upon him), sorcery had reached great heights, so the miracles presented by Musa (peace be upon him) were also considered magic by them, and they planned to counter it through magic. As mentioned elsewhere, Pharaoh and his courtiers said, "O Musa, do you want to drive us out of our land by the force of your magic? So we too will bring magic like it against you. For this, let us fix a level place and a time to which both parties will adhere." Musa (peace be upon him) said, "The day of festival and the forenoon is the time." so that the people may assemble.
