Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

10. 1. That is, not only does punishment come as a result of sins, but locks are also placed upon hearts; even great punishments cannot awaken them from the slumber of heedlessness. As in some other places, here too Allah Almighty has stated, firstly, that just as We destroyed previous nations as a consequence of their sins, if We will, We can also destroy you because of your deeds. Secondly, it is stated that due to the continuous commission of sins, seals are set upon people's hearts, the result of which is that their ears are also closed to the voice of truth, and then admonition and advice become useless for them. In the verse, "guidance" is in the meaning of clarification (explanation), which is why it is transitive with "lam": أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لِلَّذِينَ, meaning, "Has this matter not become clear to them?"
