Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

17. 1. That is, the sky will be torn apart, so where will the angels be? It is said that they will be at the edges of the sky. One meaning of this is that the angels, by Allah's command, will descend to the earth even before the sky is split. That is, now specific angels will be carrying the Throne of Allah on their heads; it is also possible that the Throne referred to here is the one that will be placed on the earth for judgments, upon which Allah Almighty will descend in majesty (Ibn Kathir).
