أَفَنَجْعَلُ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ كَٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ﴿35﴾
Shall We then treat the Muslims (believers of Islamic Monotheism, doers of righteous deeds) like the Mujrimûn (criminals, polytheists and disbelievers, etc.)?
أَفَنَجْعَلُ afanajʿalu Then will We treat
ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ l-mus'limīna the Muslims
كَٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ kal-muj'rimīna like the criminals

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

35. 1. The polytheists of Makkah used to say that if the Day of Judgment occurs, even there we will be better than the Muslims, just as in this world we are more prosperous than the Muslims. In response to them, Allah Almighty said, how is this possible that We would make the Muslims, that is, Our obedient servants, like the criminals, that is, the disobedient ones? The meaning is that it can never happen that Allah Almighty, against justice and fairness, would make both equal.
