And who can be more unjust than he who invents a lie against Allâh, or says: "A revelation has come to me" whereas no revelation has come to him in anything ; and who says, "I will reveal the like of what Allâh has revealed." And if you could but see when the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers) are in the agonies of death, while the angels are stretching forth their hands (saying): "Deliver your souls! This day you shall be recompensed with the torment of degradation because of what you used to utter against Allâh other than the truth. And you used to reject His Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) with disrespect!"

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

93. 1. By "the wrongdoer" is meant every wrongdoer, and foremost among them are those who deny the Divine Book and the false claimants of prophethood. "The angels will be stretching out their hands," meaning to take out the soul. "Today" refers to the day of the soul's seizure, and this is also the beginning of the punishment, the starting point of which is the grave. And from this it is proven that the punishment of the grave is true. Otherwise, there would be no meaning in saying, along with the command to stretch out hands and take out the soul, that today you will be given the punishment of humiliation. Note that by "grave" is meant the life of Barzakh. That is, after the life of this world and before the life of the Hereafter, this is an intermediate life, the duration of which is from a person's death until the occurrence of the Resurrection. This is called the life of Barzakh. Whether a person was eaten by a beast, his corpse was swept away by the waves of the sea, he was burned to ashes, or he was buried in a grave, this is the life of Barzakh in which Allah is capable of giving punishment.

93. 2. Attributing false statements to Allah includes the denial of the revelation of books and the sending of messengers, as well as the false claim of prophethood. Similarly, this includes the denial of and arrogance towards prophethood and messengership. For both of these reasons, they will be given the punishment of humiliation and disgrace.
