And when you (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) see those who engage in a false conversation about Our Verses (of the Qur’ân) by mocking at them, stay away from them till they turn to another topic. And if Shaitân (Satan) causes you to forget, then after the remembrance sit not you in the company of those people who are the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers).

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

68. 1. In this verse, although the address is to the Prophet ﷺ, every individual of the Muslim Ummah is the addressee. This is an emphatic command of Allah, which has been stated in several places in the Qur'an. The same subject has already been mentioned in Surah An-Nisa, verse number 140. By this is meant every gathering where the commands of Allah and His Messenger are being mocked, or practically being disrespected, or where the people of innovation and deviation are distorting the verses of Allah through their weak interpretations and feeble explanations. Attending such gatherings with the intention of criticizing the wrong and raising the word of truth is permissible; otherwise, it is a grave sin and a cause of Allah's wrath.
