The Cattle · Meccan · Juz 7 · Page 132

When Our Torment reached them, why then did they not humble themselves (believe with humility)? But their hearts became hardened, and Shaitân (Satan) made fair-seeming to them that which they used to do.
فَلَوْلَآ falawlā Then why not
إِذْ idh when

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

43. 1. When nations, having sunk into moral and ethical decline, allow their hearts to become rusted, then Allah’s punishments fail to awaken and shake them from their slumber of heedlessness. After that, their hands do not rise before Allah to seek forgiveness, their hearts do not humble themselves in His presence, and their faces do not turn towards reform. Instead, by wrapping their evil deeds in beautiful interpretations and justifications, they satisfy their own hearts. In this verse, the conduct of such nations is described, whose actions have been made attractive to them by Satan.
