Surah Al-An'aam (6) — Ayah 147

فَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقُل رَّبُّكُمْ ذُو رَحْمَةٍ وَٰسِعَةٍ وَلَا يُرَدُّ بَأْسُهُۥ عَنِ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ﴿147﴾
If they (Jews) belie you (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) say: "Your Lord is the Owner of Vast Mercy, and never will His Wrath be turned back from the people who are Mujrimûn (criminals, polytheists or sinners)."
فَإِن fa-in But if
كَذَّبُوكَ kadhabūka they deny you
فَقُل faqul then say
رَّبُّكُمْ rabbukum Your Lord
ذُو dhū (is the) Possessor
رَحْمَةٍۢ raḥmatin (of) Mercy
وَٰسِعَةٍۢ wāsiʿatin Vast
وَلَا walā but not
يُرَدُّ yuraddu will be turned back
بَأْسُهُۥ basuhu His wrath
عَنِ ʿani from
ٱلْقَوْمِ l-qawmi the people
ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ l-muj'rimīna (who are) criminals

147. 1 That is why, despite the rejection, He does not hasten to punish. 147. 2 That is, granting respite does not mean being protected from Allah's punishment forever. Whenever He decides to punish, then no one will be able to avert it.
