Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

14. 1. "Basa'ir" is the plural of "Basirah," which originally means the light of the heart. Here, it refers to those evidences that the Quran has mentioned repeatedly and in various places, and which the Prophet ﷺ has also explained in the hadiths. Whoever adopts the path of guidance after seeing these evidences, the benefit is his own; if he does not adopt it, the loss is his own. As it is said: من اھتدی فانما یھتدی لنفسہ ومن ضل فانما یضل علیھا (whoever is guided, is guided only for his own soul, and whoever goes astray, goes astray only against it). (Bani Israel). Its meaning is the same as the verse under explanation.

14. 2. Rather, I am only a messenger, a caller, and a bearer of glad tidings and a warner. Showing the path is my task; making someone walk upon it is in Allah's control.
