Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

20. 1. Those who forgot Allah also forgot that in doing so, they were actually wronging their own souls, and a day will come as a result when these very bodies, for which they toiled so much in the world, will become fuel for the fire of Hell. In contrast, there were others who remembered Allah and lived their lives according to His commands. A time will come when Allah will grant them the best reward and admit them into His Paradise, where every kind of blessing and comfort will be available for their rest and ease. These two groups—the people of Paradise and the people of Hell—will not be equal. How could they possibly be equal? One remembered his end and kept preparing for it, while the other remained heedless of his end and thus was criminally negligent in preparing for it.

20. 1. Just as the one who prepares for an exam succeeds and the other fails, likewise the people of faith and piety will succeed in attaining Paradise, because they kept preparing for it by doing righteous deeds in the world. In other words, the world is the abode of action and the abode of testing. Whoever understands this reality and does not live his life heedless of the end will be successful, and whoever is unable to understand the reality of the world and remains heedless of the end, indulging in wickedness and immorality, will be a loser and a failure.
