Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan — Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf
Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
19. 1. It is said that it was Wednesday evening when this fierce, icy, and howling wind began, and then it continued to blow for 7 nights and 8 days without interruption. This wind would even lift people who were locked inside their homes and fortresses, and would hurl them to the ground with such force that their heads would be separated from their bodies. This day proved to be inauspicious for them in terms of punishment. This does not mean that there is any inauspiciousness in Wednesday or any other day, as some people think. The meaning of "mustamir" is that this punishment continued until all were destroyed.
