And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment (i.e. the torment in this world and in their graves) before this; but most of them know not. (Tafsir At-Tabarî).

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

1. That is, in this world, as stated elsewhere 32. As-Sajda:21) 47. 2 The reason for these worldly punishments and hardships is so that people may turn towards Allah. Since they do not understand this point, they do not repent from their sins; rather, sometimes they begin to commit even more sins than before. As mentioned in a hadith, "When a hypocrite recovers after being ill, his example is like that of a camel. He does not know why he was tied with ropes, nor why he was set free." (Abu Dawood, Kitab al-Janaiz, Number 389)
