Surah At-Tur (52) — Ayah 38

أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ ﴿38﴾
Or have they a stairway (to heaven), by means of which they listen (to the talks of the angels)? Then let their listener produce some manifest proof.
أَمْ am Or
لَهُمْ lahum for them
سُلَّمٌۭ sullamun (is) a stairway
يَسْتَمِعُونَ yastamiʿūna they listen
فِيهِ ۖ fīhi therewith
فَلْيَأْتِ falyati Then let bring
مُسْتَمِعُهُم mus'tamiʿuhum their listener
بِسُلْطَـٰنٍۢ bisul'ṭānin an authority
مُّبِينٍ mubīnin clear

38. 1. That is, do they claim that by means of a ladder, they too, like Muhammad ﷺ, have gone up to the heavens and listened to the conversations of the angels or what is revealed to them?
