Surah Qaaf (50) — Ayah 7

وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَـٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۭ بَهِيجٍ ﴿7﴾
And the earth! We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and have produced therein every kind of lovely growth (plants).
وَٱلْأَرْضَ wal-arḍa And the earth
مَدَدْنَـٰهَا madadnāhā We have spread it out
وَأَلْقَيْنَا wa-alqaynā and cast
فِيهَا fīhā therein
رَوَٰسِىَ rawāsiya firmly set mountains
وَأَنۢبَتْنَا wa-anbatnā and We made to grow
فِيهَا fīhā therein
مِن min of
كُلِّ kulli every
زَوْجٍۭ zawjin kind
بَهِيجٍۢ bahījin beautiful

7. 1. And some have taken the meaning of "zauj" as "pair," that is, every kind of plant and thing has been made in pairs (male and female). The meaning of "bahīj" is beautiful, lush, and handsome.
