Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

12. 1. There is much disagreement among the commentators regarding the identification of the People of the Well (Ashab ar-Rass). Imam Ibn Jarir Tabari has given preference to the opinion in which they are considered the People of the Ditch (Ashab al-Ukhdud), who are mentioned in Surah Al-Buruj. (For details, see Ibn Kathir and Fath al-Qadir, (And 'Ad and Thamud and the companions of ar-Rass and many generations between them) 25. Al-Furqan:38)
