Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

15. 1. That is, the changes and distortions they made in the Torah and the Gospel were exposed, and what they used to hide was made apparent, such as the punishment of stoning. As the details of this are present in the ahadith.

15. 2. Both "نور" and "کِتَابُ مُّیْن" refer to the Noble Quran. The "و" between them is not for difference in reference but for difference in meaning, and this is an explanatory conjunction, the clear evidence of which is the next verse of the Noble Quran, in which it is being said that through it Allah guides. If "نور" and "کتاب" were separate things, the words would have been (یَّھدِیبِھِمَا اللّٰہَ), meaning Allah guides through both of them. From this specific verse of the Noble Quran, it has become clear that both "نور" and "کتاب مبین" refer to one thing, that is, the Noble Quran. It is not that "نور" refers to the Prophet ﷺ and "کتاب" refers to the Quran, as those people of innovation claim who have fabricated the belief of "نور من نور اللہ" regarding the Prophet ﷺ and deny his humanity. Similarly, to establish this fabricated belief, they also narrate a hadith that Allah first created the light of the Prophet ﷺ and then created the entire universe from that light. However, this hadith is not present in any authentic collection of hadith. Moreover, it is also against the authentic hadith in which the Prophet ﷺ said that the first thing Allah created was the pen. Muhaddith Albani writes: "The hadith is authentic without doubt, and it is among the clear evidences for the invalidity of the famous hadith 'The first thing Allah created was the light of your Prophet, O Jabir.'" The famous hadith of Jabir that Allah first created the light of your Prophet is invalid.
