سُوْرَةُ الدُّخَانِ
Surah Ad-Dukhaan (44) — Ayah 16
يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ ٱلْبَطْشَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ ﴿16﴾

On the Day when We shall seize you with the greatest seizure (punishment). Verily, We will exact retribution.

16. 1. This refers to the seizing in the Battle of Badr, in which seventy disbelievers were killed and seventy were taken captive. According to another interpretation, this severe seizing will occur on the Day of Resurrection. Imam Shawkani states that this is a mention of the specific seizing that took place in the Battle of Badr, because it is mentioned in the context of the Quraysh, although on the Day of Resurrection Allah will also seize severely, but that seizing will be general and every disobedient person will be included in it.
