سُوْرَةُ الشُّوْرٰي

Surah Ash-Shura (42) — Ayah 30

وَمَآ أَصَـٰبَكُم مِّن مُّصِيبَةٍ فَبِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَيَعْفُوا۟ عَن كَثِيرٍ ﴿30﴾
And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much. (See the Qur’ân Verse 35:45).
وَمَآ wamā And whatever
أَصَـٰبَكُم aṣābakum befalls you
مِّن min of
مُّصِيبَةٍۢ muṣībatin (the) misfortune
فَبِمَا fabimā (is because) of what
كَسَبَتْ kasabat have earned
أَيْدِيكُمْ aydīkum your hands
وَيَعْفُوا۟ wayaʿfū But He pardons
عَن ʿan [from]
كَثِيرٍۢ kathīrin much

30. 1. Some sins are atoned for by those hardships that befall you as a consequence of your sins, and there are some sins that Allah Almighty forgives outright, and Allah's Being is Most Generous; after forgiving, He will not hold one accountable for them in the Hereafter.
