Surah Ash-Shura (42) — Ayah 20

مَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرْثَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ نَزِدْ لَهُۥ فِى حَرْثِهِۦ ۖ وَمَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرْثَ ٱلدُّنْيَا نُؤْتِهِۦ مِنْهَا وَمَا لَهُۥ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ مِن نَّصِيبٍ ﴿20﴾
Whosoever desires (by his deeds) the reward of the Hereafter, We give him increase in his reward, and whosoever desires the reward of this world (by his deeds), We give him thereof (what is decreed for him), and he has no portion in the Hereafter.
مَن man Whoever
كَانَ kāna is
يُرِيدُ yurīdu desiring
حَرْثَ ḥartha (the) harvest
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ l-ākhirati (of) the Hereafter
نَزِدْ nazid We increase
لَهُۥ lahu for him
فِى in
حَرْثِهِۦ ۖ ḥarthihi his harvest
وَمَن waman And whoever
كَانَ kāna is
يُرِيدُ yurīdu desiring
حَرْثَ ḥartha (the) harvest
ٱلدُّنْيَا l-dun'yā (of) the world
نُؤْتِهِۦ nu'tihi We give him
مِنْهَا min'hā of it
وَمَا wamā but not
لَهُۥ lahu for him
فِى in
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ l-ākhirati the Hereafter
مِن min any
نَّصِيبٍ naṣībin share
