Surah Fussilat (41) — Ayah 43

مَّا يُقَالُ لَكَ إِلَّا مَا قَدْ قِيلَ لِلرُّسُلِ مِن قَبْلِكَ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغْفِرَةٍ وَذُو عِقَابٍ أَلِيمٍ ﴿43﴾
Nothing is said to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) except what was said to the Messengers before you. Verily, your Lord is the Possessor of Forgiveness, and (also) the Possessor of Painful Punishment.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. 43. 1. That is, whatever the previous nations said to deny their prophets—such as "he is a sorcerer," "he is mad," "he is a liar," and so on—the disbelievers of Makkah said the same things about you. This is, in a way, to comfort you that your denial and the attribution of sorcery, lying, and madness to you is nothing new; this has always happened with every prophet, as stated elsewhere (مَآ اَتَى الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِّنْ رَّسُوْلٍ اِلَّا قَالُوْا سَاحِرٌ اَوْ مَجْنُوْنٌ 52؀ۚ اَتَوَاصَوْا بِهٖ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُوْنَ 53؀ۚ) 51. Az-Zariyat: 53-52). The second meaning is that these things were also said to the messengers before you because all the divine laws have agreed upon these matters, and in fact, the primary call of all was to monotheism and sincerity. 43. 2. That is, for the people of faith and monotheism who are deserving of forgiveness.
