سُوْرَةُ فُصِّلَتۡ

Surah Fussilat (41) — Ayah 26

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَا تَسْمَعُوا۟ لِهَـٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانِ وَٱلْغَوْا۟ فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَغْلِبُونَ ﴿26﴾
And those who disbelieve say: "Listen not to this Qur’ân, and make noise in the midst of its (recitation) that you may overcome."
وَقَالَ waqāla And said
ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who
كَفَرُوا۟ kafarū disbelieve
لَا (Do) not
تَسْمَعُوا۟ tasmaʿū listen
لِهَـٰذَا lihādhā to this
ٱلْقُرْءَانِ l-qur'āni Quran
وَٱلْغَوْا۟ wal-ghaw and make noise
فِيهِ fīhi therein
لَعَلَّكُمْ laʿallakum so that you may
تَغْلِبُونَ taghlibūna overcome

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. 26. 1. This they said to each other. Some have interpreted laa tasma'uu as "do not obey him."
26. 2. That is, make noise, clap, whistle, shout loudly so that the sound of the Quran does not reach the ears of the audience and their hearts are not affected by the eloquence and excellence of the Quran.
26. 3. That is, it is possible that due to this noise, Muhammad ﷺ may not recite the Quran at all, by listening to which people are influenced.
