"Besides Allâh"? They will say: "They have vanished from us: Nay, we did not invoke (worship) anything before." Thus Allâh leads astray the disbelievers.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

74. 1 Can they help you today?
74. 2 That is, who knows where they have gone, how can they help us?
74. 3 After admitting, then they will deny worshipping them, because there it will become clear to them that they used to worship things that could neither hear nor see, nor could they cause harm or benefit (Fath al-Qadeer), and its other meaning is also clear, which is that they will completely deny shirk.
74. 4 That is, just as with these deniers, Allah also leads the disbelievers astray. The meaning is that continuous denial and disbelief are such things that they blacken and rust the hearts of people, and then they are forever deprived of the grace to accept the truth.
