Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

40. 1. That is, the recompense for evil will be like the evil itself, not more, and the punishment will be according to it, which will be a reflection of justice and fairness.

40. 2. That is, those who will also be believers and will also be adherents of righteous deeds. Its clear meaning is that without righteous deeds, mere faith, or without faith, righteous deeds, have no value in the sight of Allah. For success with Allah, faith along with righteous deeds and righteous deeds along with faith are necessary.

40. 3. That is, blessings will be given without measure and reckoning, and there will be no fear of their ending.
