Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

25. 1. Pharaoh had been doing this before as well so that the child would not be born who, according to the astrologers’ prediction, was a threat to his kingdom. He gave this order again to humiliate and disgrace Musa (Moses) (AS), and also so that the Children of Israel would consider Musa’s (AS) existence to be a cause of calamity and misfortune for themselves, just as in reality they said: (اُوْذِيْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ تَاْتِيَنَا وَمِنْۢ بَعْدِ مَا جِئْتَنَا) 7. Al-A'raf:129) "O Musa (AS), even before you came to us, we were afflicted with hardships, and after you have come, our condition is the same."

25. 1. That is, the purpose he wanted to achieve by this—that the strength of the Children of Israel would not increase and his own honor would not decrease—he did not achieve it. Rather, Allah drowned Pharaoh and his people, and made the Children of Israel the inheritors of the blessed land.
