Surah An-Nisaa (4) — Ayah 57

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ سَنُدْخِلُهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا ۖ لَّهُمْ فِيهَآ أَزْوَٰجٌ مُّطَهَّرَةٌ ۖ وَنُدْخِلُهُمْ ظِلًّا ظَلِيلًا ﴿57﴾
But those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism) and do deeds of righteousness, We shall admit them to Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), abiding therein forever. Therein they shall have Azwâjun Mutahharatun (purified mates or wives), and We shall admit them to shades wide and ever deepening (Paradise).
وَٱلَّذِينَ wa-alladhīna And those who
ءَامَنُوا۟ āmanū believe[d]
وَعَمِلُوا۟ waʿamilū and did
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ l-ṣāliḥāti the good deeds
سَنُدْخِلُهُمْ sanud'khiluhum We will admit them
جَنَّـٰتٍۢ jannātin (in) Gardens
تَجْرِى tajrī flows
مِن min from
تَحْتِهَا taḥtihā underneath it
ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ l-anhāru the rivers
خَـٰلِدِينَ khālidīna will abide
فِيهَآ fīhā in it
أَبَدًۭا ۖ abadan forever
لَّهُمْ lahum For them
فِيهَآ fīhā in it
أَزْوَٰجٌۭ azwājun (are) spouses
مُّطَهَّرَةٌۭ ۖ muṭahharatun pure
وَنُدْخِلُهُمْ wanud'khiluhum and We will admit them
ظِلًّۭا ẓillan (in the) shade
ظَلِيلًا ẓalīlan thick

57. 1 This is a mention of the eternal blessings for the believers in contrast to the disbelievers. But these are for the believers who will be enriched with the wealth of righteous deeds. (May Allah make us from among them).. Allah Almighty has made it clear everywhere in the Noble Quran by mentioning righteous deeds along with faith that they are inseparable companions. Faith without righteous deeds is like a flower without fragrance, or a tree without fruit. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) and the other Muslims of the best generations understood this point. Thus, their lives were filled with the fruits of faith—righteous deeds. Similarly, if a person performs such acts that fall under righteous deeds, such as honesty, trustworthiness, sympathy, compassion, and other moral virtues, but is deprived of the wealth of faith, then these deeds may become a means of fame and good reputation for him in this world, but in the sight of Allah, they will have no value or worth, because their source is not faith, which makes good deeds fruitful in the sight of Allah, but only worldly interests or national morals and customs are their foundation.

57. 2 Dense, deep, excellent, and pure shade, which has been expressed in the translation as 'complete comfort.' In a hadith, it is mentioned: In Paradise, there is a tree whose shade a rider cannot cross even in a hundred years; this is the Tree of Eternity (Shajarat al-Khuld).
