The Women · Medinan · Juz 6 · Page 105

So, as for those who believed (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism) and did deeds of righteousness, He will give them their (due) rewards - and more out of His Bounty. But as for those who refused His worship and were proud, He will punish them with a painful torment. And they will not find for themselves besides Allâh any protector or helper.
فَأَمَّا fa-ammā Then as for
ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who
ءَامَنُوا۟ āmanū believed
وَعَمِلُوا۟ waʿamilū and did
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ l-ṣāliḥāti the righteous deeds
فَيُوَفِّيهِمْ fayuwaffīhim then He will give them in full
أُجُورَهُمْ ujūrahum their reward
وَيَزِيدُهُم wayazīduhum and give them more
مِّن min from
فَضْلِهِۦ ۖ faḍlihi His Bounty
وَأَمَّا wa-ammā And as for
ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who
ٱسْتَنكَفُوا۟ is'tankafū disdained
وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ wa-is'takbarū and were arrogant
فَيُعَذِّبُهُمْ fayuʿadhibuhum then He will punish them
عَذَابًا ʿadhāban (with) a punishment
أَلِيمًۭا alīman painful
وَلَا walā and not
يَجِدُونَ yajidūna will they find
لَهُم lahum for themselves
مِّن min from
دُونِ dūni besides
ٱللَّهِ l-lahi Allah
وَلِيًّۭا waliyyan any protector
وَلَا walā and not
نَصِيرًۭا naṣīran any helper

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

173. 1 Some have taken this (more) to mean that Allah will grant the right of intercession to the believers; after receiving this permission for intercession, they will intercede for those about whom Allah wills.

173. 2 That is, they refrained from the worship and obedience of Allah and continued to deny and show arrogance.

173. 3 Just as it is stated in another place: "Indeed, those who show arrogance (denial and pride) from My worship will surely enter Hell, humiliated and disgraced."
