سُوْرَةُ النِّسَآءِ
Surah An-Nisaa (4) — Ayah 143
مُّذَبْذَبِينَ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ لَآ إِلَىٰ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَلَآ إِلَىٰ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ۚ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُۥ سَبِيلًا ﴿143﴾

(They are) swaying between this and that, belonging neither to these nor to those; and he whom Allâh sends astray, you will not find for him a way (to the truth - Islâm).

143. 1. When they go to the disbelievers, they express friendship and connection with them, and when they come to the believers, they express friendship and connection with them as well. Outwardly and inwardly, they are neither with the Muslims nor with the disbelievers, and some hypocrites remain confused and hesitant between disbelief and faith. The Prophet ﷺ said, "The example of a hypocrite is like that of a she-goat that is confused between two flocks (in search of a mate), sometimes going towards one flock and sometimes towards the other." (Sahih Muslim)
