لَّعَنَهُ ٱللَّهُ ۘ وَقَالَ لَأَتَّخِذَنَّ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ نَصِيبًا مَّفْرُوضًا ﴿118﴾
Allâh cursed him. And he [Shaitân (Satan)] said: "I will take an appointed portion of your slaves.
لَّعَنَهُ laʿanahu He was cursed
ٱللَّهُ ۘ l-lahu by Allah
وَقَالَ waqāla and he said
لَأَتَّخِذَنَّ la-attakhidhanna I will surely take
مِنْ min from
عِبَادِكَ ʿibādika your slaves
نَصِيبًۭا naṣīban a portion
مَّفْرُوضًۭا mafrūḍan appointed

118. 1. The specified portion may refer to the vows and offerings that the polytheists dedicate to their idols and to the persons buried in graves, and it may also refer to the quota of the inhabitants of Hell whom Satan will mislead and take with him to Hell.
