Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
49.1. That is, in both the abundance and restriction of sustenance, there are signs of Allah’s oneness, meaning it becomes evident that only His command and authority prevail in the universe, only His planning is effective and operative. That is why He grants abundant sustenance to whomever He wills and subjects whomever He wills to poverty and hardship. No one can interfere in these decisions of His, which are based on His wisdom and will, nor can anyone alter them. However, these signs are only for the people of faith, because only they reflect upon them, benefit from them, and attain Allah’s forgiveness.
