Surah Saad (38) — Ayah 22

إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ دَاوُۥدَ فَفَزِعَ مِنْهُمْ ۖ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ خَصْمَانِ بَغَىٰ بَعْضُنَا عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فَٱحْكُم بَيْنَنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَا تُشْطِطْ وَٱهْدِنَآ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلصِّرَٰطِ ﴿22﴾
When they entered in upon Dâwûd (David), he was terrified of them. They said: "Fear not! (We are) two litigants, one of whom has wronged the other, therefore judge between us with truth, and treat us not with injustice, and guide us to the Right Way.
إِذْ idh When
دَخَلُوا۟ dakhalū they entered
عَلَىٰ ʿalā upon
دَاوُۥدَ dāwūda Dawood
فَفَزِعَ fafaziʿa and he was afraid
مِنْهُمْ ۖ min'hum of them
قَالُوا۟ qālū they said
لَا (Do) not
تَخَفْ ۖ takhaf fear
خَصْمَانِ khaṣmāni (We are) two litigants
بَغَىٰ baghā has wronged
بَعْضُنَا baʿḍunā one of us
عَلَىٰ ʿalā to
بَعْضٍۢ baʿḍin another
فَٱحْكُم fa-uḥ'kum so judge
بَيْنَنَا baynanā between us
بِٱلْحَقِّ bil-ḥaqi in truth
وَلَا walā and (do) not
تُشْطِطْ tush'ṭiṭ be unjust
وَٱهْدِنَآ wa-ih'dinā and guide us
إِلَىٰ ilā to
سَوَآءِ sawāi an even
ٱلصِّرَٰطِ l-ṣirāṭi [the] path
