Surah As-Saaffaat (37) — Ayah 30

وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَـٰنٍۭ ۖ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا طَـٰغِينَ ﴿30﴾
"And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were Tâghûn (transgressing) people (polytheists, and disbelievers).
وَمَا wamā And not

لَنَا lanā for us
عَلَيْكُم ʿalaykum over you
مِّن min any
سُلْطَـٰنٍۭ ۖ sul'ṭānin authority
بَلْ bal Nay
كُنتُمْ kuntum you were
قَوْمًۭا qawman a people
طَـٰغِينَ ṭāghīna transgressing

30. 1. The mutual dispute between the followers and those followed has been mentioned in several places in the Noble Quran. Their blaming of each other will take place on the Day of Resurrection (the Plain of Gathering), and after entering Hell, it will also occur inside Hell, as may be noted.
