Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

138. 1. This is an address to the people of Makkah who, during their trade journeys, would pass by these destroyed regions. It is being said to them that you pass by these towns both in the morning and at night, where now there is the Dead Sea, which is extremely harsh to look at and is very foul-smelling and putrid. Do you not understand by seeing them that this terrible end befell them because they denied the messengers? So why should the outcome of your conduct be any different from theirs? When you are doing the same deeds as they did, then how can you remain safe from Allah’s punishment?
